Violet evergarden shows the life of a emotionally detached soldier settling into post war life while taking the work of a ghostwriter for the sole purpose of finding the meaning of the words ' I love you' .While the theme is dark and deals with psychological issues, it drove its extremely emotional moments home and is arguably one of the best animes.

 4. Grave of the         butterflies

Grave of the butterflies is also a notable anime of the genre drama. The story is about two siblings depending on each other, about their struggles for staying alive having lost both their parents to world war2 . This was a real life story written by Akiyuki Nosaka who wrote it to come to terms with losing his sister to malnutrition during the war.

Yona of the dawn is an excellent example of the genre romance. This anime circles around the life of a crimson haired princess sheltered by her father, having her whole life changed after the assassination of her father the emperor by her trusted friend and navigating her life to survive with the help of her friend and general Hak while working for her motherland and finding herself the lord of four dragons. Unbeknownst to us , we have been watching animes since childhood namely doraemon, ninja hatori , shinchan, pokemon and so on. Just now the name anime and its origin East Asia has become more widespread.
